This page explains what happens to your information when you visit josie-kramer.com, write to me through the site, or buy something from it. I have written it in plain language, in my own voice, because a privacy policy you cannot read is not really a policy.
1. Who I am
I am Josie Kramer. I work one to one with people through somatic facilitation and transpersonal guidance, and I publish writing and online programs on this website. I am based in Rosarito, Mexico, and most of the people I work with are in California. For anything on this page you can reach me at Josie@josie-kramer.com.
2. What I collect
What you choose to send me. The contact form on this site asks for your name, your email address and your message. That is all it asks for, and it all comes straight to my inbox. If you email me directly, I have whatever you decided to write.
What comes with an order. If you buy an online program, my store runs on Squarespace and payments are processed by Stripe. I can see the order: your name, your email address, what you bought and when. I never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles the card and holds it under its own terms.
What is collected automatically. Like almost every website, this one records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, the type of device and browser you are using, the pages you open and the site you arrived from. This comes from Squarespace, which hosts the site, and from Google Analytics, which I use to understand which writing people actually read.
3. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website leaves on your device. The essential ones let this site work at all: they keep the pages loading, protect the forms from spam and remember what is in your cart. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, which can last up to two years, to count visits and recognise a returning visitor.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and you can opt out of Google Analytics everywhere you browse with the add-on Google publishes for that purpose. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
4. What I do with it
I use what I collect to answer you, to arrange and hold sessions, to deliver what you bought, to keep the site running and readable, and to meet the record keeping that tax and accounting rules require. That is the whole list. I do not sell your information, I do not rent it, and I do not hand it to anyone so they can market to you.
5. Who else touches it
Running a website means other companies process small pieces of this on my behalf, each under its own terms: Squarespace, which hosts the site and the store; Stripe, which processes payments; Google, for Analytics, for the spam protection on the forms and for the fonts the site loads; and Adobe, for the rest of the fonts. Some of these companies are based in the United States, which means your information may be processed there.
This site also links to places I do not control, including my social media and other practitioners I work alongside. Once you follow a link, you are under that site's policy, not mine.
6. What you tell me in a session
What you share with me in a session stays between us. It does not live on this website, it is not part of the analytics above, and it is not shared with anyone unless you ask me to or the law obliges me to. If I ever keep notes, I keep them privately and separately from anything the website touches.
Nothing on this website is medical advice or a substitute for care from a licensed clinician.
7. Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. If you are in California, the law gives you those rights explicitly, along with the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, which is easy in my case because I do neither. Nobody gets treated differently for asking.
To exercise any of this, email me at Josie@josie-kramer.com and tell me what you want done. I will reply.
8. How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for as long as the conversation is alive and for a reasonable time after, in case you come back. I keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Analytics information is kept by Google under its own retention settings.
9. Children
This website is not intended for children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me something, write to me and I will delete it.
10. Changes
If I change how any of this works, I will change this page and update the date at the top. The date tells you which version you are reading.
